Meet the Real Humans of Bli Bli – Part 3

Bli Bli Post Office & White's IGA

2020 has certainly been a challenging time for businesses around the world but when the times were tough, Bli Bli’s community spirit truly shone through.

In Part 3 of The Real Humans of Bli Bli we’re chatting to Bli Bli Post Office business owner Kimberley and head of Bli Bli’s locavores, Robert about local support, passion for the job and overcoming challenges through the year that was.

Kimberley

Bli Bli Post Office

2020 was busy for Kimberley and the rest of the team at Bli Bli Post & Stationery. With an increased demand for postal services and more letters to loved ones being sent across the country, they’ve certainly had their work cut out for them. But, Kimberley says community spirit runs strong in this part of the Sunshine Coast.

“The community spirit that lives within our store is so heart-warming. We love our customers – seeing their faces and hearing their stories. They know us by name and always remember what we’ve been up to and ask us about our families. The community spirit is just so lovely and my favourite part of coming to work.”

Bli Bli Post and Stationery provides a range of services for members of the local community. And, for the convenience of customers, Kimberley’s team are available across longer opening hours than any other Post Office on the Sunshine Coast. A service that is only possible due to the hard work and commitment of the staff.

“A great post office would not be so without amazing staff. Customers expect to walk into a post office and to be served by staff who are friendly, efficient and helpful. I am very proud of our staff who are so knowledgeable and eager to assist our customers, and are definitely the glue of our business holding us all together,” Kimberley said.

Bli Bli Post and Stationery is not your ordinary Post Office. You’ll find all the regular postal services but there are also some wonderful and some surprising extras on the shelves.

  • Banking services (including withdrawals and deposits for more than 70 banking institutions)

Robert

Store Manager, White's Supa IGA

White’s Supa IGA Bli Bli, Store Manager, Robert, says the last year has been ‘memorable’. But what’s really come out of the challenges of 2020 is how supportive the Bli Bli community is and how proud he is of his team.

“The pride I felt in watching our team think on their feet with changing and growing demands from our customers as well as rapidly changing circumstances that we were operating within was something I have rarely felt.

Their can-do attitude on an everyday basis and during extraordinary circumstances is rare and something to be bottled. They are some of the best people I have ever had the pleasure to work with,” he said.

Robert’s passion for what he does comes down to the people: those he works with and the community White’s Supa IGA Bli Bli serves.

“The thing I love about my job is the different people I get to meet and work within customers and team.

Bli Bli is a close-knit community and we’re all invested in the things that benefit the entire community. We take an active interest in always trying to improve our community and support local businesses.”

The store is a full-service supermarket with all of your usual supermarket staples and favourites, in-store Butcher, and a great selection of health and speciality lines. The fresh produce department is second to none and there is a diverse range of hot meals, snacks, BBQ chickens and a selection of frozen bait & tackle for those last-minute fishing trips.
